The design approach is based on two principles in response to the existing ‘sandwiched’ site condition and the reinvention of a souvenir kiosk in the modern age of tourism and branding. The two key concepts are: Iconic kiosk and its identity of a place and a Blade insertion of a ‘Window Display Wall’. Through creation of a 10m x 4m long souvenir display wall that forms the illustrious part of the kiosk unit, its design is to be seen as a blade inserting or slicing into the site. The ‘Display Wall’ structure is to provide a visual and graphic connection to visitors and at the same time bringing an imaginative and fresh inspiration to the river front.
